  • DO: go with a group of friends that you've known for years.. don't go with people you just met... problems will arise...items will go missing... you'll be sorry.

  • DO: Throw a party and invite your neighbors and all the ladies that pass by your place/balcony.

  • DO: be friendly with your booze at the parties but stash enough for you and the people you are staying with...NEVER GO DRY

  • DO: BRING PROTECTION that goes for you too ladies. Nothing ruins great memories like an STD

  • DO: make sweet t-shirts with your friends so you can remember your great time forever! ...or until you stop wearing the shirt

  • DO: research on the location that you'll be vacationing. Learn about the best bars to meet people and find cheap drinks. ALWAYS know where the nearest liquor store is... the bar has to be closed sometime.

  • DO: try to pick a location that is "condensed"...meaning you should Break in an area where your sleeping accommodations, beach, bars and amenities are all within walking/cab distance.

  • DO: consider a secondary insurance policy on your insurance. Many travel agencies offer supplementary insurance that covers you in international locations. They can be pricy but it's better to be safe than sorry... no one what to get appendicitis in Mexico

  • DO: bring hilarious items of clothing (Hawaiian shirts, straw hats, Hulk hands, whatever) so that you stand out. You've got to make your make and stupid clothes are great conversation starters.

  • DO: pack extra bathing suits. Yes men I am talking to you. There is no worse feeling in the world than constantly being wet in a dry place.

  • DO: keep your boyfriend/girlfriend informed. You will avoid a ton of unnecessary arguments if you send a text/picture every once in a while to let them know you care.

  • DON'T: fall off the grid! Let's face it, you're going to get drunk and either: wind up in a place that isn't your own, forget your phone/forget your charger/lose your phone ...be a good friend and let someone know where you are... there is nothing worse than looking for someone in a sea of drunk people.

  • DON'T: dip into your savings. Make sure that you transfer ALL of the money that you want to spend on your trip into your checking account so that you don't FINANCIALLY RUIN yourself... I have drank quite a bit in my day...and woken up with several receipts from places I never knew existed...you will too.

  • DON'T: think you are above sunscreen. You should always have some with you even if you are extremely tan... you never know how long you're going to be out in a day and it isn't a bad idea to have some with you

  • DON'T: blow all of your money at casinos or bars during the first few days of your trip..you'll be sorry.

  • DON'T: think you are about the law. Just because you are on spring break doesn't mean that "everyone is going to be partying...cops don't care" because that is false and you'll end up in a Tijuana Jail... the worst.

  • DON'T: buy expensive liquor if you are just going to put pineapple juice and soda in it. Buy the good stuff when you want to drink it straight, buy the cheap stuff if you're going to make it all tropical...it tastes the same.

  • DON'T: bring digital cameras, only disposables. Losing/breaking your digicam sucks and the disposables are more fun to develop... you'll be surprised at what you did!

  • DON'T: play games in the airport/be late. Honestly you should have a lot more respect and self-control than to get into trouble at an airport. Make sure you do your research and know when/where your flight is and what limitations you have on luggage.

If you are looking for stuff to do on spring break we are here to help. There is a lot out there and you just need to know where to look.

If you are going to a warm sunny area, we recommend getting in hot on a beach, but laying around all day isn't gonna keep the spring break body you worked so hard to get and now are quickly hiding with alcohol! Play some beach sports while you drink or in between your drinking games. Beach volleyball, frisbee, and football all go great on a beach. Swimming is always fun too, just don't drink and swim.

If you are going to somewhere a bit colder, say a ski resort, make sure to checkout the terrain park! It's a great way to impress your new spring break friends if you can land the back sided boardslide before grabbing drinks in the lodge. Once you are good and warm by the bar, consider hitting up the resort hot tub to get a little water action like your beach going friends. You don't have to be in Florida to have a great time.

Gonna stay around home but still want to have fun? Not a problem, plenty of people do this. Take the time during the day to catch up on what you haven't been able to do while you were in school. Being productive during the day feels great and you can reward yourself at night by hitting up the bar scene in your town or drinking with friends. You might be surprised to see how many spring break patrons are still around!

Hitting the open road is always good for an adventure, so don't rule out a road trip to somewhere new!

Make sure to be safe in whatever you do, nothing kills a vacation like an injury or worse, so be safe as always.

Not finding anything that sounds good. The web has plenty on this to find something that is perfect for you. Check out this article out for some suggestions

Are you a college student and thinking of dating someone? Then, here are some do's and don'ts that you need to follow when you go for college dating. Here are lists of some things which you must do and some which you need to avoid for a dating in college.

The first point you must look for dating when you are in college is to look for the people who is there in your class. You can initiate the discussion with the person by asking for a book or knowing his areas of interest. But before dating a person, know him in advance. Don't date person who does not share your interest. When we are in school or college, we usually have huge crush on our teachers or professors. It is always better to avoid dating your professors, because you may have to pay for them. Your professors are usually much more matured than you, and thus can play around you. But if you still want to date your professors, do it when your course is done.

Whenever you go in a bar or parties, do talk with all the people, but be cautious about the friendship. Do not date the people blindly in there, as you may like them, but may be they are not the people with whom you need to be with. Avoid dating the people in such parties, where the liquor is involved. You may have to pay the price of it later. Do not date your friend's ex boyfriend or girlfriend, as you may end up with loosing a friend for a gossip relationship. Also, be cautious about dating multiple people in the college. Always go for the dates outside the college. This will bring in certain change from your stressful life in college. Always watch movies together. Watching movies is an excellent idea to get relieved from the stressful life and also, you do not have spend much on movies.

Be patient with your partner and do not spread her secret. This may have certain bad consequences and you may become a matter of gossip in the entire campus. Whenever you have differences, do talk to each other and iron out the differences before others notice them. Do not maintain sexual relationship with your partner in the campus. People in the college are young and charged up emotionally, so it is very easy to get involved sexually, but if you do so, you may end up paying heavy price for that.

College dating forms an important period in someone's life. It usually arrives at a time, when you need someone in your life and want to live with them. For some people, college dating is the first time affair in their life. According to a survey, about 90% of people who fall in love in college life are not able to continue the relationship further. So, always be cautious, of what you are doing, and make sure that you remain loyal to your partner.

Are you a high school pass out and just entered the college, and thinking of new relationships in life. You might be asking yourself - is it fair enough to go for a college dating or not? Just read on to discover what is good and what is bad about the college dating.

Like everything, college trading has its own advantages and disadvantages. Remember, you are starting a new life in college; you are going to get an extra amount of freedom, which you never got when you were a child or when you were a teenager. Many of us live away from our parents and pursue college somewhere else. We are away from the parental guidance and whatever decision we take, we will be held accountable for. So, you always need to take an extra precaution to date someone.

To start dating in college, first select the person, whom you are compatible with. Most of the time, it could be someone from your class with whom you study, you meet him daily and is one of your good friends, but some of us choose to date our professors. Dating the professors could be risky, as it could be a matter of gossip among your friends, but the same cannot be avoided when you are dating your classmate.

The biggest advantage of dating in a college is that you get a feeling that you are matured enough and helps you to understand what you need out of your life. Dating could be inexpensive, but since you are a college goes, your partner does not expect you to take her to a high class restaurant everyday. There are various ways to impress her - give her a flower, write poetry to praise her, take her to a budget restaurant or spend some time with each other in a movie theatre. But in case your partner wants something more from you, then you may need to shell out some extra money to maintain the relationship.

Another important advantage of dating while you are in college is that you get a feeling that you are important among your friends. You get an extra importance among your friend circle, but at the same time, your friends do not stop gossiping about you when you are into trouble or have bad time with your relation.

An important positive point about dating in college is that you can maintain sexual relationship with each other and will not be a layman at the time of your marriage. But the negative point is that, you may land yourself in trouble if you do not take extra precaution and don't use condoms. Most of these relations are short lived and people may end up nowhere, if they do not care for these precautions.

Well, finally, I would like to say that whether you want to enter into any relationship or not is entirely on your choice, but college dating forms an important role in the development of an individual. If it is done cautiously, you can certainly end up with a successful relation.

BIG BOI (Sir Lucious Left Foot... The Son of Chico Dusty)

It's been four years since Idlewild and seven years since OutKast's last studio release. Big Boi found himself in the midst of changing labels and worked on Sir Lucious etc. over a few years before finally finishing and releasing in in 2010. In this case the timing of the album is perfect. The beats and Big Boi's unpredictable phrasing and rhyme schemes create an entertaining listen that plays well during the summer months. Songs like Shutterbug play out effortlessly while managing to be melodic and rhythmically inventive.

BROKEN SOCIAL SCENE (Forgiveness Rock Record)

Kevin Drew must be the busiest man in the Canadian Indie Rock scene. After the self-titled LP, Broken Social Scene "presented" two solo albums. Drew is as much a producer as he is a songwriter, but his best albums are Broken Social Scene albums. Forgiveness Rock Record follows in this flawless line of records as another excellent installment to Broken Social Scene's career. "We got a minefield of crippled affection" says Drew in the first line on the album. His image is haunting and grandiose, and with the army of incredible musicians that comprises the band, I imagine BSS will never shy away from creating these songs for a long time to come.

ARCADE FIRE (Suburbs)

Suburbs officially released in August, but anyone who wanted to could hear it long before that time. The band released tracks on vinyl earlier in the summer and it's unique appeal hit critics and listeners alike. Virtually every music publication praised it even before the album came out on the shelves. BBC hailed it as arguably better than Radiohead's OK Computer. Perhaps Arcade Fire's greatest achievement is their ability to shape each album into it's own uniformly conceived statement. Citing Depeche Mode and Neil Young as their strongest influences on the record, one can certainly hear both in this set of songs. Aesthetically Arcade Fire have always sounded like a dark new wave band placed two decades later. "I want to guard her while I'm still young/I want to hold her, show her some beauty before this damage is done/If it's too much to ask show me a sign." Perhaps the best part of Suburbs is how flawlessly it will transition into a great autumn record as well.

WORST:

M.I.A. (/ \ / \ / \ Y / \)

A few summers ago I had the good fortune to see M.I.A. in Detroit on her tour supporting the release of her incredible second album Kala. At the end of the concert she said "There's too many abandoned buildings here Detroit. Take back your abandoned buildings." The message might have been for the citizens of Detroit to take action and rebuild their city, but it was an ill-informed, misplaced last line for the concert (which she played to 90% white high school kids from the suburbs). Now M.I.A. has had a rough summer, but no one would be nearly so harsh if she didn't present herself as something she is clearly not qualified to be. Upon receiving an in depth and less-than-flattering character analysis from one NY Times columnist, she posted his phone number on her Twitter account. This is not a great idea when you want to be taken seriously as a radical political activist as well as a musician. The gesture was petty and the album that followed was all the more disappointing because M.I.A. fans were forced to realize that maybe all M.I.A's revolutionary hyperbole is a room of smoke and mirrors designed to distract us from the fact that she's just another pop artist who should stick to making music.

EMINEM (Recovery)

Eminem is on tour with Jay-Z this year. That will definitely be worth hearing. His album, which came out in late June, is unfortunately not. It's hard to say why exactly Eminem lost his edge. He was the most controversial artist in the country for years. His multiple personas and disturbingly vivid imagery used to inspire us as much as it shocked us. I remember the first time I heard the Marshall Mathers LP. I kept alternating listening to Stan and Real Slim Shady. How could one person write those two songs? He seemed equally able to depict the terrible, misconstrued effects his music could have on his fans and a few tracks later make a joke of the entire media-backlash that surrounded him. Eminem was never supposed to become boring. He could make the juvenile intellectual and his contradictions were just flaws designed to make him all the more interesting and mysterious. He can hate the critics all he wants, but sooner or later Shady needs to put out another good album if he wants us to keep listening.

Alice in Wonderland Review

Disney is the right studio for certain live action/animation projects, like Beverly Hills Chihuahua. I honestly can't think of anyone better equipped to put hilariously large budgets behind hopeless, asinine concepts. But if there's only one difference (and believe me there's more than one) between Burton's latest film, and his adaptation of Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street, it's the BITE (or perhaps just creative control). I don't expect filmmakers to accurately retell the source material they choose to adapt, in fact sometimes deviations are smart (film is not the same as literature, and Burton's imagination is as strong as practically anyone's), but I have to wonder who's idea it was to let Avril Lavigne write a song called "Alice" for the film's closing credits. And who decided the Mad Hatter should dance like Napoleon Dynamite amid distracting special effects and a random backbeat thumping behind him when no other modern music had played for the entire movie up to that point?

It's not as though I didn't have fun in the theater, as I sat there. Depp is funny enough, and spares us the creepy chemistry he shared with the kids in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Stephen Fry is always a solid choice, and Helena Bonham Carter creates the most memorable performance of the film in her depiction of The Red Queen. Even newcomer Mia Wasakowska does well in the film's title role. Still, this project got distracted in its self-imposed alterations to Alice's story. For example I'm not sure why her imagination must be prompted by an undesirable proposal of marriage, or why, in Wonderland, Alice has to have a destiny that very obviously symbolizes a realization of independence. It reeks too strongly of Disney's arrogant assumption that they are the voice of morality for American youth (I could almost hear the Jabberwocky exclaim "Ouch, Girl Power!" as it felt Alice's sword's lethal sting). These screenplay 101 contrivances are what have distracted me from writing about Alice in Wonderland's lovely visual sense, its exciting 3-D cinematography, and its humor.

I would not discourage anyone from seeing the movie, and if you do, see it in 3-D. Perhaps all the above that bothered me enough to weaken my experience with Alice won't be nearly as problematic for you. If that's the case then we here at College Life want to hear what you thought, for I would never be so bold as to say Burton and his cast were entirely devoid of their "muchness".
